KEEP CALM AND CARRY OHM……………..

We are ONE week into our Challenge and I’m soooo impressed by the dedication of our students!!

One student even decided to challenge himself further by giving up certain things during his challenge that he felt were holding him back in other areas of his life.  He made a sophisticated log of his daily challenge progress, recording such things as his location in the room,  the heat level and how it affected him,  the particular teacher etc.   He even made a template of his log for others to use if they so desired!!

I had my own personal challenge this morning.  I was right in the middle of teaching the 6:30am class when my absentee landscaper decided to finally show up and proceed to have his workers lay the brick edging WRONG.  Right in the middle of  “Kick up , Kick back ,  continuously keep kicking dont stop kicking ”  I had to make a beeline for the door ,  finish giving dialogue for the posture, get the students into savasana, and run outside to recite a very different dialogue to my landscaper!!   (I’ll refrain from sharing it here.)   Suffice it to say, my blood pressure was more elevated than that of my students in the middle of  Dhanurasana pose.

I returned to the hot room, took a couple of yogi breaths,  and said to my self –‘keep calm and carry ohm’,  just before belting out…………”SECOND SET”

This was  followed later  by a wonderful silent class with fellow teachers,  Stephen and Lina.  Thank you Bikram Choudhury!!  What would we ever do without our daily yoga practice to keep our body’s fit and our mind sane!!
