Blah, Blah Blah Bikram Blog…Keeping it Fresh
Its always great to hire a new teacher! Fresh blood, a new pair of eyes, and this case some added testosterone as well! With 4 female teachers it was a nice addition to add a male teacher.
Welcome Jayson Selander from Oregon!
It’s funny what one gets used to that we don’t even see or hear anymore over a period of time. I remember growing up in our family home with a huge Grandfather Clock that my grandparents gave to my parents. That clock rang every 15 minutes once and on the hour “BONGED” the number of times of that particular hour. Us kids (ALL FOUR OF US) stopped hearing it. We got so used to it in the background it wasn’t an issue. Guests would come over and particularly baby sitters, and say, “How annoying is that…doesn’t that drive you crazy?” (I think the babysitters used to doze off then the clock would ring and startle them. Can you imagine at midnight a loud BONG,BONG,BONG 12 times!! LOL
Back in the studio, Jayson noticed a few students modifying postures and questioned it at our teacher staff meeting/posture clinic. Myself and my other teachers laughed. While we did notice these particular students doing these modifications, we got so used to it we just simply ignored it. Jayson asked why they do this and not a single one of us could answer that question…….
This was a great reminder to us all how we sometimes become complacent and need to get re-energized to keep it fresh.
So that’s exactly what I did over this past weekend and attended a phenomenal Health and Wellness Summit in LA. Dynamic speakers, interesting studies, new product information and samples. I’m excited to bring some of this new information back to the studio to share with our students.
So STAY TUNED for an exciting event I will be co hosting at my studio soon!
Until then, hope to see you in the hot room sooooon!!
Namaste`
