Bikram Yoga El Paseo

HELLO BIKRAMITES -As the dust settles from our awesome yoga weekend culminating in our fabulous Grand Re-opening Party we look ahead to future plans of BYPD-EL PASEO!! I would be remiss however if I didn’t THANK the peeps that helped make this past weekend super incredible!!!

First of all, it’s all ABOUT THE YOGA!! HOW INCREDIBLE TO HAVE 2 FABULOUS EXPERIENCED GUEST TEACHERS AT THE SAME TIME!! MUCH THANKS to TAVI STUTZ for engaging us in such a wonderful workshop. Dissecting the poses and showing us the importance of the breath and how much easier the postures come when the breath is utilized consistently and fully was amazing !! His delightful,soft demeanor and incredible level of his own body/breath control (coupled with his “non judgement” philosophy) blew us away!!!! The workshop was an absolute success and teachers and students benefitted alike!! THANK YOU TAVI STUTZ!!!

LOREN CHERRSTROM burst on the scene too this past weekend. AND I MEAN….BURST!! Where TAVI is soft spoken and gentle, LOREN is a LIGHTENING BOLT!! THE HIGH ENERGY and LIMITLESS EXCITEMENT in his every step and in his every WORD is “OVER THE TOP”!! What an incredible compliment he was to the entire weekend of festivities — AND WHAT A WAY TO GET US ALL CHARGED UP FOR THE FABULOUS PARTY!!….. AND HE DID!! THANK YOU LOREN FOR REVVING THE WHOLE EVENT UP SEVERAL NOTCHES!!

LOREN WILL BE BACK IN THE DESERT ON APRIL 27TH AND WILL GUEST TEACH THE 8AM CLASS!! DON’T MISS IT!!

FINALLY, our “little” studio threw a “BIG” party and in a “BIG WAY”!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU –TRISH GILL (Kool Party Rentals) AND CHARLOTTE (Floral Design) for LISTENING to my VISION to recreate a cozy living room in our parking lot. YOUR TRANSFORMATION FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS!!! As the evening moved on into darkness and the furniture “LIT UP” amongst a PERFECT EVENING of UNBELIEVABLE TEMPERATURES, with that slight breeze , WHILE “KAL DAVID” PLAYED “on stage” —- AMAZING . I HAVE NOT STOPPED HEARING COMMENTS OF THIS MAGNIFICENT VENUE AND MUSIC!! THIS BRINGS ME TO KAL!!

KAL DAVID ….WOW!!! Thanks to Sallie Thurman’s referral, I hired KAl to cover the entertainment. My favorite story is student,BILL BECKSWITH. Bill had set a dinner with his wife and friends that night. He told his wife to go ahead and meet up with them as he would make an appearance at the party and be there in a few…………..a “few” turned into hours ! After a couple calls to hold them off further with his tardiness, he cancelled all together. He did not want to leave the party!! Good thing he won that fabulous gift basket from “SHERRY MESA” THE SALON !! He gave it to his wife when she met up with him much later at the party as a “here you go honey, am I out of trouble now???!!!” gift!!

THANKS TO ALL THE AWESOME RAFFLE DONATIONS AS WELL…. JILLIAN’S RESTAURANT, POTTERY BARN , WILLIAMS SONOMA , CRAB POT ,SHERRY MESA!!!

AND….. HOW ABOUT THAT FOOD!! THANKS TO STUDENT, BRUCE BOISVERT who took care of the Catering part and hired top drawer CAROUSEL. OMG– we are all still talking about that food!!! THANK YOU ROBERT- VP OF CAROUSEL!! YOUR HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL, CLASSY CATERING –FROM THE SERVERS TO THE ELEGANT GLASS DISHES to the “TO DIE FOR FOOD” ……..WOW!! You know how to make an occasion “GRAND”!!!! MUCHO GRACIOUS!!!!

THANKS TO JOYCE DONALDSON AND VALERIE WARD OF INDIO CHAMBER FOR THE AWESOME FORMAL RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY AND FOR BEING SO FLEXIBLE TO DO IT ON A SUNDAY NIGHT!!!! THANKS TO ALL OUR STUDENT MEMBERS WHO CAME OUT TO SHARE IN THE FUN AND TO THE PROSPECTIVE NEW GUESTS YOU BROUGHT. LAST SUNDAY MARKED THE BEGINNING TO BIKRAM YOGA PALM DESERT -REBIRTH!! SEVERAL MONTHS AGO WE WERE ‘little embers’. TODAY, we are ‘EVERLASTING FLAMES’ HENSE, OUR NEW LOGO!!

AS WE LOOK AHEAD: We will be choosing students for our “student wall of fame” each week!! Will it be you up there?? Teacher Justin Hadlock will be heading up outdoor destination yoga — stay tuned for dates and venues. Stephen and I are working on a yoga retreat in Cabo where I have access to many rooms on the beach, AND My PAISAN in Sicily (Chef/owner of ChinChin Ristorante) has invited us for a YOGA/CULINARY TOUR OF SICILY!! LOT’S OF EXCITING VENTURES AHEAD AS WE MOVE OUR STUDIO IN A NEW DIRECTION KEEPING IN PACE WITH OUR BREATH!!
