Bikram Yoga El Paseo

I’m still reeling from the awesome CELEBRATION PARTY   that  I  hosted last night at my house.  (Maybe because I have so many  ‘freakin’ tortilla’s  left  I don’t know what to do with all of them!!)

It was fun to welcome all the  BYPD YOGIS AND YOGINIS into my home as they have welcomed me into their hearts this past year !!!  73  Peeps in  ALL !!!!!  Awesome turnout to an awesome night of celebration !!!!  (IT WAS A FULL HOUSE !!!!   Thank God most of them stayed outside……LOL)

We honored the 30 day challengers ,  we formally bid  Teacher  Kevin and  his wife Brooke Mayes a fond farewell  (as they continue their personal journey outside of the desert )  and we officially welcomed    teachers  Justin and Carolina Hadlock  back home !! We acknowledged that  our  FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY is just 2 weeks away , and sang  “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” to  one of our most  loyal,   long term  members ,  Colleen Pappas !!  AND WELCOMED BACK A COUPLE OF FAMILIAR FACES :  ANA STOCKWELL AND PAMELA BERNSTEIN !!!!!!

In one fell swoop we  CELEBRATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We celebrated our  YOGI lives !!  We celebrated the   commitment that we have to OURSELVES to stay healthy , feel amazing,   and  welcome new members into our community !!!!

When you feel and look amazing  and you  KNOW   the secret ,     you can’t help but  want  share the word !!!  NOTHING DETOXES THE BODY OR KEEPS YOUR INTERNAL ORGANS REGENERATING AND WORKING PROPERLY THAN  BIKRAM YOGA …………..NOTHING!!!!         THE HEAT ADDS AN ELEMENT THAT NONE OTHER FORM OF EXERCISE PROVIDES  !! THAT COUPLED WITH BIKRAM’S  INGENIOUS ORDER OF SPECIFIC POSTURES — ONE LEADING INTO THE NEXT–  GIVES YOU THE MOST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK IN 90 MINUTES !!!!!!!!!

Why do we consistently practice BIKRAM YOGA ??????????   It’s very simple .  As Bikram Choudhury would say himself ,   ” IT WORKS” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to share with you  TWO highlights of my evening last night:

FIRST ,  is  the words of our   RAFFLE GRAND PRIZE WINNER  –  DR. CRAIG ROSENBLUM .   Dr . Craig told me that he was thinking about the raffle ALL DAY  and  KNEW he was going to win the Cabo trip .  He willed it in essence .  I’m always preaching to my students the power of the mind.  I can’t tell you how often  I say  , “we can talk ourselves into or out of ANYTHING……RIGHT??”  When Craig told me how   –   ‘ I wouldn’t believe ‘  –    that   he had been thinking about the raffle all day and just  “KNEW” he was going to win ,   I was not surprised at all . TALK ABOUT FOCUS AND MIND CONTROL………………..THE WORLD IS YOUR OYSTER GUYS………..Let it  HAPPEN !!!

SECOND ,  was a special gift that I received from Brooke and Kevin Mayes . (MY Departing teacher and his wife)     A  Beautiful   MUDRA  necklace .  A gold and pearl necklace -(little did they know that Pearl is my birthstone and my FAVORITE  jewelry )  .   BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY :      The Symbolic  “Buddah hand”  carries special meaning,  and I will wear it and treasure it always !!   Brooke , Kevin and I have had a special journey of our own through this first year of uncharted territories  .  This first year of my ownership has brought specific challenges of which  I was unprepared .  Kevin’s  ‘real’ first year of teaching created   specific challenges for him personally and for he and Brooke as a team  .  Together  we  perservered  !!!!  Our  Faith and love of the yoga  guided us into the direction we needed to go .    I feel blessed that our paths have crossed .   I’m proud of Brooke and her  desire to further educate herself through nursing school , and excited for the both of them  as they move to cooler climates — the beach– and start the next chapter of their lives!!  While I will truly miss them as I know the others will,  we know they will be back and look forward to learning about their enriched lives !!!

I also know that as one door closes , another opens .

Tomorrow I welcome  yet  another  guest teacher to BYPD :  A woman that I went to teacher training with and  who   I  am delighted to be reunited !!   PLEASE WELCOME ROXANNE POWELL from Oregon .  We introduced Roxanne at the party last night and look forward to her guest teaching  all this  week !!!  PLEASE  review the class schedule and DONT MISS  taking one of Roxanne’s classes while she is in town !!!

Can’t wait to see you in the hot room this week as we dive into our  SECOND YEAR !!     Oh,  and grab some tortillas on your  way out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
