Bikram Yoga El Paseo

As our 30 day challenge nears to an end,   I got a good laugh at myself Friday night. Earlier in the week,  some of my  (much) younger students stated they “hit a wall” and the challenge was becoming difficult.  “NOT ME” I stated,  “I’m going strong” !!!   Just 3 days later with only 2 days left to go,  I took  Bikram Choudhury’s final Teacher Training class in LA.

I   “HIT  A   WALL”  or  IT  HIT  ME   or   SOMETHING HIT ME!!!

Bikram is always stating that he will “KILL” you in the hot room   and this time he definitely did not disappoint !!!  Not sure if it was the class being 2 hours long,  or the oppressive, unbearable heat,  or the fact that we were right under the blasting heaters (that stayed on for the full two hours)  or WHAT!  Regardless,  it was definitely my most challenging class of my challenge and maybe of my life! For the very first time, I actually felt like leaving the room.

I’m glad I stayed.  It made our celebratory dinner with our newest Certified Teacher all the more special.   I’m glad that our group was there– down in the trenches, sweating it out with our new  graduate!!!

Congratulation Alex Spears !!! Alex was chosen as one of the student demonstrators on graduation night!!!  We are very proud of her as this is a huge honor.   We also want to congratulate her  for surviving 9 weeks of 2 classes/day, lectures, posture clinics and most importantly life’s lessons.

Becoming a certified Bikram Teacher is quite the feat and one emerges a very different person then when they began,   and their evolution has only just begun.

As Alex begins her new journey,  we welcome her to  our   studio  family  and  to  the extended Bikram family of certified teachers!!!!

Sounds like big celebrations are in order  but  ONLY after the work is done!!  Congrats to Alex,  to the challengers that completed their challenge and to the ones that will finish the end of this month!!
