Blah, Blah, Blah….Bikram Blog…Who needs a shrink!!!

Who needs a shrink when a hot sweaty Bikram Yoga class with an awesome experienced Certified Bikram Yoga Instructor does the trick!!!!!

I had an epiphany the other day in the middle of my Bikram Yoga practice.   AND  NO,   it wasn’t during  “Camel Pose” (the chest/heart opening asana  that’s known  to be emotion releasing)    but rather  one posture earlier  “Half Tortoise”.

Maybe it was the influx of that fresh oxygenated blood that rushed to my brain awaking  “the dormant brain cells that were lying in cold storage like dead MEAT!!!”  (That has to be one of my favorite BIKRAM-isms.)  Maybe it was Senior teacher Stephen Kaleda’s  gentle push stretching me further in Ardha-Kurmasana  and sending me into asana ecstasy,  ………. OR     Maybe I just had “MEAT ” on my mind because I knew that  in just a few hours  Stephen, Jim and I would be dining once again in our now traditional,  annual Birthday dinner to celebrate the two December birthdays one day apart!!!

Frankly,  I think I was just “READY”……….  “OPEN” as we say in the Bikram world to finally “GET IT!!”

In case you’re wondering if my epiphany was  coming to a final decision on what car I should buy the answer is  “no.”  (It wasn’t the superficial but rather on a much higher intellectual level .)

After the flurry of comments that I received  on face book following my  car search post,  I was even more confused than when I posed the question in the first place. I thought that maybe I should just fix my 12 year old ‘Bessie’  and keep her another 12 years………….

After all,  Gordon Pfeiffer  (my New Zealand friend / German born fellow Yogi whom I practiced countless hours of dialogue with in Teacher Training)  did point out in his comment  that  BMW’s   “RUN FOR-EEEVER”.  His comment was followed by a  debate between he and another Yogi  friend from TT my former roomie,  Katty Chaichian.  Gordon successfully shut her down by bringing  Prada into the discussion.  I learned in TT never  to argue with Gordon  after he told off our Cab driver in Manhattan Beach!!  (A scene that obviously slipped Katty’s mind,    but then she thinks the drive from Palm Desert to LA  on a Monday morning in rush hour is   “2 hours……. DOOR  TO DOOR”……….HA!

Nope,   I still don’t have a  “CAR” answer — no epiphany on that yet.

Ok , so I got off on a mental tangent there.  As I’m typing this I’m reminding myself what I tell my students every day………to stay focused.

So right now I’m  simply  relishing in my new found enlightenment and thankful and grateful that it was finally bestowed on  to me!!!!!

If  your waiting for me to divulge  my epiphany,  you might  as well  be “ Waiting for  Godot”   because I’m not sharing it……… not  just yet anyway.    Maybe in a future blog but not in  this one!

Don’t know who Godot is??  Google it!

Hope to see you in the hot room soon!!  In the meantime, STAY PRESENT,  count your blessings,  follow your heart, and FLOSS daily!!!   It will keep a happy healthy smile on your face!!!

Namaste`
