Spine extension is the goal

Always be aware of your posture and how you are handling your spine

Gravity is against you always; keep the spine straight

Breath will do the job for you. That beautiful breath is free; take it

Be mindful and pay close attention (internally) to your movements so much that you can do the asana with eyes closed

Stand up straight…Sit up…Don’t Slump. Keep your chest up

Pull a rubber band on both directions. You will see two forces working against each other. When you apply this principal in your practice, you’ll extend your spine from both directions.

Use your core muscles to connect the upper and lower body together

Use your breath when doing the posture and keep the base of the spine straight. Don’t let it slump or get bend

Relax the area in your body that you feel tension. You must constantly do this. Watch and release. Don’t waste unnecessary energy

Be mindful of your face. It shows the state of your mind and body. People do not pay $100 to see a performer with tight face. Do the postures gracefully and keep your face calm

Breathe through the poses. Breathe

Keep hydrated before and after the class. In the class, if you need water, that is your body asking; however if you want ice water, that’s your ego asking

Your heart is pumping hard and your mind and breath are racing. You have the power to control your breath and consequently the other two will calm down

It is effortless yoga if done right; if you do it right, it will look good
